AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Exam

How I passed the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Exam

I’m excited to share that I successfully passed the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Exam. This is a major step forward in my attempt to master cloud technologies, especially those related to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystem.

The AWS CCP course was made to understand the fundamentals of cloud computing, AWS services, and best practices possible. AWS worldwide infrastructure, pricing structures, security, and essential services like EC2, S3, and RDS were just a few of the many subjects discussed. Regardless of technical experience, this certification is perfect for anyone who wants to learn the principles of cloud computing.

Why the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Exam?

If you are interested in learning about the cloud, this is the certificate best suited to be provided by the best service provider.

The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner credential is ideal for those who want to:

  • Understand core AWS services and cloud concepts.
  • Learn the fundamentals of AWS without having to be highly technical.
  • Obtain confidence to work towards more advanced AWS certifications.

Preparation process of AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Exam

Initially, I went through the basic concepts of cloud computing, to get started and then went on learning the core topics including:

  • Compute
  • Storage
  • Database
  • Networking & Content Delivery
  • Analytics
  • Machine Learning
  • Security, Identity, & Compliance

Questions covered

As you might already know, there are 65 questions out of which 50 are marked and the rest are for AWS to analyze the answerability of the candidate to remodel their question pattern in the future.

Study materials

There are various materials that you’ll find over the internet; just like cloud services (pun intended), it is best to explore them all to find what suits you best. I mostly used Whizlabs video courses any time I had doubts and referred to official AWS websites and documents as well. Whizcards from Whizlabs was a real lifesaver, as it helped sum up everything that I learned so far. This is the only cheat sheet you require before taking the exam.

Labs and Sandboxes

Labs and Sandboxes are particularly helpful if you are looking to get your hands dirty and dive into understanding the concepts practically. I was particularly puzzled to understand how security and billing work in AWS, which is within the scope of the examination. Whizlabs provides Hands-on- labs, challenges, and sandboxes that would help you achieve exactly that.

Whizlabs practice tests

Whizlabs practice tests are very helpful. For CCP, Whizlabs provides a free test, 4 section-wise tests, 4 full-length practice tests, and a final test. Every test has a different range of difficulties, which will be beneficial while taking up the exam.

I think the key to cracking any examination is attempting mock tests and dumps. It helped me a lot to understand the types of questions that will appear in the examination. This is essential, I’d suggest taking up at least 3 to 4 practice tests, which should also include the difficult ones so that the actual exam would seem easier.

Look out for

I would suggest concentrating more on AWS technology since many technologies might seem very similar, but to differentiate them from each other could be cumbersome and quite a task. Since it has the most weightage, more concentration should be diverted to this section.

Exam updation

The key difference from the CLF-C01 is that the CLF-C02 reflects more on the latest AWS offerings and advancements.

CLF-C02 provides a more detailed focus on security and compliance services. This includes updated information on services like AWS Shield, AWS Key Management Service (KMS), and compliance programs.

Next steps

You will undoubtedly be inspired to improve your cloud understanding, go further into AWS, and pursue more advanced certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate after getting your AWS CCP.

I strongly advise starting with the CCP if you’re interested in learning more about AWS or cloud computing. It’s an excellent starting point for anyone wishing to advance their knowledge of clouds.

Conclusion

To sum up, I would say that the AWS CCP is pretty simple and has a straightforward pattern. A few hours of dedicated learning will help you with a roadmap suitable to your learning methods. Consistent practice with sample questions can boost your confidence. Lastly, stay curious and keep exploring the AWS ecosystem even after the exam—you’ll be surprised how much you’ll continue to learn.

Most importantly, remember to enjoy the process, it makes learning fun and effective. Good luck!
