Whizlabs: How did you get into Project Management?
Oliver: I was in a management training program that afforded me an opportunity to work in various roles for 12-18 months at a time. One of those roles involved the implementation of a Balanced Scorecard. Ultimately, this launched my interest in managing projects.
Whizlabs: What kind of Project Management training programs you lead in Whizlabs? Feel free to share any interesting experiences you’ve had while training at Whizlabs.
Oliver: Primarily, I lead the Online PMP Trainings for the North America, USA, and Canada time zones.
Whizlabs: Please share top 5 takeaways your training participants get out of their participation.
Oliver: The top 5 takeaways training participants get out of their participation are:
- Ability to walk in the shoes of a PMP and think the way PMI wants them to think about the exam.
- Learn what needs to be memorized, along with what doesn’t necessarily need to be memorized.
- Interact with the instructor and their classmates, especially when it comes to sharing feedback and insights.
- Discover strategies and ideas to advance their career.
- Find out the tips and tricks needed to pass the exam on their 1st attempt.
Whizlabs: Please share your experience in delivering a course in an instructor-led, online format. Is it really effective & engaging medium?
Oliver: The instructor-led, online training format is a very effective learning mode. Students get the advantage of live instruction from the comfort of their home or any other location of their choice. Many of the same tools and techniques that are used in a face-to-face environment are also used online (e.g. Whiteboard, spreadsheets, class interaction, Q&A, etc.).
Whizlabs: What do you like most about training at Whizlabs?
Oliver: I like the flexibility and the ability to work from anywhere. Many of the same reasons students gravitate to the evening classes are the same reasons I enjoy teaching the classes.
Whizlabs: Do you suggest any changes to Whizlabs so that the value of its courses can be enhanced further?
Oliver: I think it would be helpful if students had access to handouts and other supporting templates.
