Selecting an appropriate performance team is essential for the success of the projects. The project management is a very important concept of business, which involves discipline to make goals and to reach them; to ensure that the project gets completed in a timely manner and to the best of the organizational’s capacity. The project management is an ongoing activity throughout the project. It is a systematic management of resources, in a manner that the available resources delivers and executes the tasks required to accomplish the project within a defined range, time as well as the cost constraint. When team understands what is expected from them, they stay more engaged in the activities and they find ways to improve their work performance.
- Managing performances: Organizational’s team activity’s performance can be monitored by measuring productivity. If the team completes the given tasks earlier in the set time period with the best quality, is certainly considered as the best performing team. The team must have the potential for increasing productivity for the organization. The team’s performance should be monitored daily, for ensuring that the team is working for the benefit of the organization and delivering the excellent results. The performance of the team can be effectively managed by issuing performance appraisals and conducting discussions on performances. The timely feedback of the unsatisfactory performances helps in taking appropriate steps to improve the performance.
- Training: Project management training can be one of the effective ways of working and managing the projects, while making optimum use of the resources. The project managers learn the methods on how to utilize different tools in the project. The training assists the project managers during the entire project. The formal training to the project team by enhancing their knowledge and expanding their abilities, encourages them to participate in various developmental activities.
- Team Building exercise: The project team is a group of individuals working towards a common goal. Team building refers to a process of enabling the project team in achieving the specific goals. An effective team building is always beneficial for the organization because it ensures increased productivity, better project management and positive communication among all the team members. The project manager has the biggest influence on the team’s performance and the performance of the team can be improved by the effective team building strategy. Consistent and enthusiastic application of team building strategies can have the most powerful positive impact on the performance of the team, since the performance of the entire team is dependent on the group of people and not focused on the individual’s performance. The major purpose of the team building exercises is to provide guidance to the team members to work together effectively to deliver the assigned tasks.
